Tim Hill will return to New York on a $3 Million Dollar option

THE BRONX, NY — The Yankees are picking up the $3 million-dollar option on lefty reliever Tim Hill.
Hill had a solid season for the Yankees, posting a 3.09 ERA across 70 appearances, showcasing his consistency and durability out of the bullpen. He quickly became one of manager Aaron Boone’s most trusted late-inning arms, particularly in high-leverage matchups. What stood out most about Hill’s 2025 campaign was his effectiveness against left-handed hitters — holding them to a mere .181 batting average — thanks to his sharp breaking ball and ability to locate his fastball inside.
Hill was the lone lefty in the bullpen and proved valuable as one of the most consistent relievers in the back end of the Yankees bullpen. Hill also got a lot of ground balls, which often limited his pitch count, allowing for multiple ups.
Hill also has a postseason era of 0.55 across 16.3 innings in his career. Hill will once again be an integral part of the Yankees bullpen in 2026.
