NEW YORK — Following Tuesday’s loss in New York, the Yankees optioned right-handed reliever Scott Effross to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after he recorded a scoreless ninth inning. Effross’ repertoire appeared sharp, and the organization expects that consistent outings in the minors will further refine his command.

Robert Murray, MLB insider for FanSided.com, reported that the Yankees will activate right-hander J. T. Brubaker, who was returned from his rehabilitation assignment earlier in the day and is out of minor-league options, thereby necessitating a corresponding roster move.

Acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates before the 2024 season, Brubaker has yet to appear for the Yankees at the major-league level. During his rehabilitation assignment, he compiled a 2.95 earned run average (ERA) over 21.1 innings, reinforcing the club’s view of him as a viable middle-innings option out of the bullpen.
