The New York Yankees have re-signed Amed Rosario to a one year $2.5 million dollar contract, sources confirm the report of Jack Curry.

The Yankees acquired Rosario from the Nationals at the trade deadline and he was electric for the Yankees. While he did not play a lot for the Yankees, he provided more than just production on the field — but vibes in the clubhouse. Rosario, among the other Latin players on the team, created “The Hot Corner” at the end of the Yankee dugout. This was a place of good vibes and celebrations, and with its aid, the Yankees had a really strong September.

Rosario serves as the righty complement to Ryan McMahon at third base, as he excels at hitting lefties. In 16 games with the Yankees, he posted a .303 batting average on 33 at-bats with 1 home run. He also had 9 strikeouts and 0 walks in his 33 at-bats. Overall in the 2025 season, split between the Nationals and Yankees, Rosario played 63 total games with a .276 average, 6 home runs, and 23 RBIs.

Brian Cashman made it clear that they needed to acquire some right-handed bats this offseason, and they got that started. The Yankees will reap the benefits of having Rosario the full season against lefties. With manager Aaron Boone saying at the Winter Meetings that Ben Rice will receive at-bats against lefty’s in 2026, adding Rosario just makes sense for the Yankees roster.
