The Dodgers defeat the Blue Jays to win Game 7

TORONTO, CA — The Los Angels Dodgers are World Series Champions, defeating the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 5-4.
Will Smith won this game in the top of the 11th inning with a go-ahead solo home run against Shane Bieber. It was Will Smith’s second home run of this postseason, and this one was the most important.
Miguel Rojas had the next biggest hit for the Dodgers this postseason, with a game-tying solo home run in the top of the ninth inning against closer Jeff Hoffman. It was Rojas’ second home run since the All Star Break, and just his second hit this postseason.
The Blue Jays had an aggressive offensive approach from the beginning against Dodgers starter Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani only lasted two and a third innings in this game, surrendering three runs. All three runs, came off the bat of Bo Bichette, who took the first pitch he saw to the left-center field seats.
Ohtani posted a 7.56 ERA in the World Series this season, and the Dodgers lost both of his starts.
Bichette has played this series banged up, and he had the biggest impact offensively in the game, from either side.
The Blue Jays added on in the sixth inning against Tyler Glasnow. Ernie Clement lead off with a single, then stole second base. Andres Gimenez then scored him with an RBI double in the gap.
Ernie Clement became the first player in MLB History to have 30 hits in a single postseason.
The Dodgers offense was limp once again throughout most of the game. The Dodgers mustered three runs, two of them on Sac Flys. Muncy had the solo home run in the eighth inning, bringing LA within one run, but it was not enough.
The Blue Jays defense was spectacular tonight, and Guerrero was in the middle of it. There were multiple plays made behind the Jays pitching staff tonight that drastically changed the outcome of the game.
The Blue Jays finished the postseason with 11 straight games without an error. That is just insane, and give credit to playing baseball the right way.
The Blue Jays had a chance to Walk Off the Dodgers in the bottom of the ninth inning, loading the bases with one out, but Miguel Rojas, who tied the game in the top of the inning, saves the day getting the force at the plate. Then, with a deep fly ball to left-center, Kiké Hernandez and Andy Pages crash into each other, but Pages catches the ball and saves the day for LA.
The Dodgers had the same chance in the top of the 10th inning against Siranthony Dominguez, after a Betts walk, Muncy single, and a T. Hernandez walk. Andy Pages and Kiké Hernandez proceeded to have two of the worst at-bats I have seen, not being able to get the run in, or the ball off the ground.
That does not excuse the fact that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. made yet another spectacular play to try and save Toronto’s season.
The Dodgers became the first MLB team to repeat as World Champions since the 1998-2000 Yankees.
The 2025 MLB Season comes to a close. The next Regular Season game will take place on March 25th, 2026, with the New York Yankees taking on the San Fransisco Giants from Oracle Park in San Fransisco, California. It will be the first MLB game ever televised on Netflix.
Till then, Happy Hot Stove Season!
