NEW YORK -- The trade deadline has passed and the Yankees got two players at the buzzer to make this trade deadline a true success.

The second, and true buzzer beater move was acquiring elite reliever Camilo Doval from the San Francisco Giants  . Doval, a dominant right-hander whose fastball has topped 104 mph and who has already logged 15 saves with a 3.09 ERA in 2025, brings electric late‑inning firepower to a Yankees bullpen that has been under pressure in the second half of the season  .

In return, the Giants received a significant haul: four promising prospects from New York including righties Trystan Vrieling and Carlos de la Rosa, catcher Jesús Rodriguez, and infielder Parks Harber  . Yankees general manager Brian Cashman emphasized that the move bolsters depth as New York gears up for a postseason run, pairing Doval with newly acquired arms like David Bednar and Jake Bird to create a more reliable and versatile late-inning mix  .

More information to come.
