Chicago continues their solid offseason by making a salary dump trade with Boston

The Chicago White Sox are continuing a rather strong offseason, by making a trade with the Boston Red Sox, first reported by ESPN.
The White Sox are acquiring right-hander Jordan Hicks and prospect David Sandlin in exchange for their 21st-ranked prospect Gage Ziehl. Chicago will also be receiving $8 million from Boston.
The Red Sox acquired Hicks from the San Fransisco Giants as a part of the Rafael Devers trade in June. Both deals have been complete salary dump from the Red Sox.
White Sox' Offseason
A round of applause for the White Sox this offseason. They have been aggressive in the process of their rebuild with signs of life that brighter days are ahead.
From taking a flyer on slugger Munetaka Murakami from Japan, who will provide some much needed power in their lineup, to bringing in Austin Hays on Saturday to provide veteran leadership to the young core in Chicago.
Now with the additions to their pitching staff and further development of their young core, the White Sox might be in the hunt for a wildcard spot, given the divison they play in.
Red Sox' Offseason
The ripple effects on this offseason began with the Devers trade in June. The Red Sox sent the salary of Devers fully to San Fransisco and took on Hicks' bad contract.
The Red Sox have made it a bit of a habit to shed salaries of players as of late and Hicks was the latest.
Boston is still in need of a third baseman, so perhaps Craig Breslow has another trade up his sleeve to acquire one.
As of now, Boston's lineup has gotten weaker since last season, exchanging Alex Bregman for Willson Contreras.
